A quick turnaround from order to installation for our client in the New Forest who had a cobbled-up solution of mixed kit. We recommended that we start again with new DEA on-gate motors and safety and control unit. Firstly, we sorted all the cabling and got it safely ducted in conduit. Then we removed the old motors from the bottom of the gate, that had pulled off, and fitted the new motor with the correct bracketry to the centre of the gate. The old control unit was mounted on a huge post badly located close to the edge of the drive presenting a crush hazard to those using the pedestrian gate. We relocated it on new powder-coated legs safely against the wall. New photocells inside and out completed the job. The addition of an electronic drop-bolt for extra security.
Thanks to our clients for making the leap, the correct solution is not always the cheapest solution. They trusted that we would deliver, and their colleagues kindly worked around us during the install keeping their cars offsite so our guys could work safely. This installation is sound now for years to come.
